At the recent Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, in addition to the eagerly awaited Vision Pro AR/VR headset and a new entry-level iPad, Apple announced updates to the Mac computer lineup. It refreshed the high-end Mac desktops, and introduced a new, larger MacBook Air with a 15” display.

Despite the claims that we have entered a post-PC, mobile-first computing era, consumers still want Mac computers, and Apple is keeping the line-up fresh. 

Laptops continue to dominate. In the most recent twelve-month period, laptops accounted for over three-quarters of Mac computer sales (Chart 1).
