Once again, CIRP completed its quarterly survey of US Apple customers, including ones that bought a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch in the March 2023 quarter. That was the second full quarter of availability for the new iPhone 14 models. These numbers are so important to understanding Apple’s performance, that we revisit them each quarter.

This quarter’s headline is that the premium models in the iPhone lineup did better than ever.

In the quarter, the four iPhone 14 models together accounted for 75% of all US iPhone sales. This represents an increase over the 71% of sales for iPhone 13 models in the March 2022 quarter (Table 1). The iPhone 14 lineup achieved one of the highest shares for the newest phones in a March quarter since CIRP began tracking new iPhone sales by model eleven years ago.
