The data is in from our Apple US customer survey for the March 2025 quarter. With the new iPhone 16e launched during the quarter and the iPhone SE and 14 and 14 Plus still available but retired during the quarter, there are a lot of moving parts. After these changes, the lineup will be far more streamlined going forward.

As a new model at a newly created spot in the new iPhone lineup, the iPhone 16e results are highly anticipated. In its first partial quarter of availability, our data shows iPhone 16e sales accounting for 7% of US iPhone unit sales (Chart 1). The iPhone 16e share of unit sales exceeded that of the iPhone SE in the same quarter last year.

Together, the five current iPhone 16 models combined for 74% share of total US iPhone sales. That is more than the 68% share for the four then-current iPhone 15 models in the March 2024 quarter. The introduction of the iPhone 16e accounts for the entire difference, but there were notable shifts among the other models’ shares as well.
