To our readers, clients, and friends
As the year draws to a close, we want to thank our clients, readers, and friends and look back at 2022.
Our biggest news this year is CIRP launched new Substack newsletters for Apple and Amazon, as a better way to distribute our research more broadly. We heard that a weekly note, with a succinct analysis of a timely subject, would be interesting and useful. We thank our clients and readers for joining us on this journey.
For Amazon, in addition to our regular Prime membership and retention analyses, we looked at grocery shopping, streaming video use, package delivery patterns, and Echo ownership and usage. We also highlighted how monthly Prime membership payment plans and Subscribe & Save increase annual customer spending, and how Walmart.com competes with Amazon.
For Apple, our Substack newsletter shared our model-level iPhone sales analysis and estimate of US-WARP, our take on Apple's iPhone ASP. We also showed which retailers sell more iPhones and how long iPhone owners wait to upgrade and what phone they are retiring. Of course, Apple sells more than iPhones, so we analyzed iPad sales, too.
Beyond our weekly reports on Amazon and Apple, CIRP continues to serve clients with tailored, in-depth analyses of Walmart.com, the broader mobile phone and mobile carrier markets, and the smart speaker market. Our team also provides custom, proprietary survey research in other industries where we can develop insights into consumer behavior - hospitality and travel, retail, and consumer package goods, as well as tech.
Thanks for supporting our work as we expand our reach. We look forward to staying in touch and working together in 2023.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
